Admin edit or create database error: Timed out after 5000 milliseconds

Metabase was previously working properly, but when I tried to edit a connection to change the IP I received the error “Timed out after 5000 milliseconds” when saving. I tried to recreate the connection and also receive that error when saving the new connection.

Metabase is version 0.19.3 (error occured on an earlier version, too. I upgraded hoping to solve it) running on a Linux server. I tried setting permissions on the h2 db file to 777 as well as running metabase as root.

sounds like Metabase can’t connect to the database you’re trying to add.

what kind of db are you trying to add and where does it live?
