How to Change Default Column Ordering at the Table Level?

I know that you can change the column orderings for a particular question. But if you create a new question from the same dataset it will always revert back to alphabetical ordering. Is there any way to set the column ordering of the table to be the same as the database?

I’ve noticed that when looking at raw data from a table, rather than a simple SELECT * command, metabase chooses to explicitly write out all the columns in alphabetical order. This is likely whats causing the default ordering. Is there any way to change this behavior?
