Joining Across Databases (Federated Joins)

Hi,

I think quite a lot of companies with a micro-service architecture have issues with BI in terms of joining across databases. Does Metabase plan to support federated joins any time soon and what is your view on this “feature”?

I can’t speak for the developers, but I’d rather have a specialist product do the federation with Metabase as ‘just’ the frontend. I’m using MS SQL at the moment to join across multiple databases. It’s not doing anything clever and if there was more data I’d need to look elsewhere.

Yes. Same here. We’re using MySQL, but as we cannot do aggregation many times the dashboard are not being that effective.
