for a column I enable the filter type as list of values, from there on it is firing more irrelevant queries. I want to disable the job that is causing this to happen. In that column, I have changed the filer type now, but still that task is shown in the list

Try providing more information, so it's possible to understand what you are trying to do, and "Diagnostic Info" from Admin > Troubleshooting.
