We're building a series of dashboards for management reporting purposes. The business managers have the responsibility to provide a comment for their respective profit center and for each reporting period (monthly). We would like to display these comments in the dashboard. This can be done with a text box, but unfortunately it's just static that way. Ideal would be, that the dashboard would display the correct comment for the selected period/profit center combination.
Has anyone done this? If so how? We're contemplating to manage the comments in a CMS and then linking the dashboard to the appropriate page with query parameters. It's not a nice workaround though, because I would rather have the comments on the dashboard and not in a separate tab.
Depending on comment length, you could return the comment as a Table or Number

Hi @flamber, thanks for the input. Yeah, I am probably looking at something along the lines of the issue you posted above. Table currently doesn't work because their is no support for line wrap afaik. As the comment is at least a paragraph, a single line in a table doesn't cut it. I upvoted, let's see what happens
Are there any plans to extend Metabase with a plugin architecture? The forum software you're using (Discourse) is a nice example of this btw, allowing the community to provide specific, sometimes niche, functionalities, thereby increasing the overall value and appeal of the product.

It's more complicated than people think to add plugin support, currently only drivers are modular:
