Feature request: setting constant variables for collections inherited by subcollections

The constant variables can be defined per collection and will be inherited by sub-selections.

They can be used in all questions assigned to the collection, either directly or through a dashboard. They are either visible and adjustable by the user or they are invisible and cannot be altered.

This would be really helpful when using the same question again and again over several sites or departments or countries.

So you might use and need to manage only one question suitable for many sections/domains/areas, that are only different by some where conditions in the question/query.

What do you think?

Hi @andreas

I don’t know what “constant variables” is supposed to be, but it sounds like you’re requesting this:

The Enterprise Edition has Sandboxing, which sounds a lot like this:

You are right, it’s almost the same, but mine is per collection, not just per single dashboard. Variables would be inherited by the dashboards from the collection(s) I’ll add it there.
