I have created a field filter based on a date column that works well in the sql question but when trying to use it as a filter in a dashboard, it does not appear as an option
The dashboard filter type must match the type of the column of the linked filter.
For date/time columns, in the dashboard filter configuration panel, set the ‘Filter or parameter type’ dropdown to "Date picker”.

What I think i was doing wrong is that i made a question based on the sql query and tried to put that in the dashboard so i just turned all the questions in the dashboard into sql queries and set up field filters for them. if i was to complain about one thing though it's why aren’t we able to filter on the fields that are used in the query, like questions
