Filter settings > Filter or parameter type > Date Range with "including the current period" set by default

In the Date range filter, I can set the "current Date" by explicitly setting the checkbox:

This is confusing to my business users because they are used (while using another BI tool) to having the "current period" activated by default.

My question is, how can I set this check to be active by default?

You can't without recompiling the whole application.
It is possible to update the Metabase database to force it to be set. It's not supported though.
