How to sort the questions in an email subscription

I have a dashboard with 4 questions. I've sorted the questions on the dashboard in a way that makes sense, however, the subscription email sorts them some other way. I've tried to figure it out but I'm missing something. So far I've ruled out the following:

  • The sorting is not alphabetical.
  • The sorting is not in the order they were created (i.e. https:///question/1, https:///question/2, etc.)
  • The sorting is not in the order they were added to the dashboard.

I've tried the items above and deleted and recreated the subscription each time. The subscription's sorting is changing with each new subscription, but I can't find the pattern - it's certainly not changing in response to what I'm doing. I've tried creating new dashboards.

Ok, I got it (I think). It seems that it IS the order they were added to the dashboard, however, you need to save after each question you add. I.E.

Add Question 1. Save Dashboard.
Add Question 2. Save Dashboard.

repeat until done.
