Upgrading from v0.46.4 to v0.52

We have metabase v0.46.4 setup running on k8s with a MySQL 5.7 backend. We wish to upgrade to v0.52, how should we go forward with that? So far I have thought of 2 options:

  1. Taking backup in 5.7 and restoring in a new 8.0 cluster
  2. Upgrading mysql and then upgrading metabase

Would like suggestions on the best way to go forward.

you should go straight to 52.5. Also, you need to have a database backup, always, as the migration might go wrong and the only way back is to restore a database backup
