Announcing OUTER JOIN: Metabase's first (in person) user conference!

Hey everyone,

Some of you have been part of this forum for years. You've helped debug SQL, troubleshoot deployments, report bugs, request features we've gone on to build, and answer questions from newcomers. We've gotten to know many of you through forum threads, support conversations, and the occasional video call. This October, we'd love the chance to finally meet you in person.

OUTER JOIN is our first-ever in-person user conference, happening October 5–7 in Denver, CO and this community is a huge part of why we’re doing it, and we'd love for many of you to be there

We want this event to reflect what makes the Metabase community special, so we’d love your input:

What topics do you want to see covered?
Reply below. (Seriously. We’re reading every suggestion.)

Have you built something interesting with Metabase that others should hear about?
Some of the best sessions will come from users sharing what they’ve learned. Reply here if you’d like to suggest a topic or share your story!

Cool!

I have some suggestions. I’m new to Metabase though so I hope they’re useful:

Metabase for journalists

How have news organizations used Metabase for data visualizations?

Code contribution hackathon

Prep some existing bugs and small features with a special tag and then take few hours with interested people who want to contribute. This might be a good time to have people help with documentation too.

Metabase at scale

Extending your documentation on the topic, maybe with real world examples, visuals, tricks and gotchas. Maybe even a workshop?

Volunteering

Do you need any volunteers for the conference? I’m brand new to the community, but I live an hour from Denver and would love to help out.
