I've got a date/time column and I just realized that the whole thing is in UTC time. I know in google sheets, you just add hours (=value+ 5/24) to convert to EST timezone. Is there a way to do the same thing in the metabase question editor? I couldn't find an answer by searching the forum.

Upgrade to 45, which has support for convertTimezone() and datetimeAdd/Subtract()
