Dashboard Email Links Ask Users to Log In — But We Don't Have Metabase Accounts (Simpro BI)

Hi everyone,

I'm using the BI reporting suite inside Simpro, which I understand is powered by Metabase. I've built dashboards and set up email subscriptions so our management team can receive regular reports.

The problem is:
When someone clicks on a chart or table from the email, the link takes them to a login screen like this:
BI Reporting)

But we don’t have (or need) Metabase accounts because Simpro handles everything on their side.

Is there a way to:

  • Change the links in dashboard email subscriptions to use the right domain?
  • Or stop the links from pointing to a login screen our users can’t use?

This is a critical issue since the intended recipients are non-technical stakeholders, and broken links reflect poorly on the reporting system.

Simpro said they can’t change it, since this is built into how Metabase works.

Any advice, workarounds, or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

The domain of the links in the email is configured inside Metabase. If you don't have the admin login, you're a bit stuck.
How do you create the questions and subscriptions without a login?

Thank you for your reply.

I create the questions and subscriptions within Simpro's BI reporting suite (https://reportbuilder.simprocloud.com) with only a login to Simpro. Unfortunately, we don't have direct access to Metabase admin settings, so we're unable to configure the domain of the links in the emails.

Looks like their BI reporting suite is just a rebadged Metabase. I don't know what they do behind the scenes but you're going to need to have admin rights and/or more user accounts.
Not something that anyone outside Simpro can help with.
