Filter Issues - v0.56.5

Our company users are having a few issues regarding filters, especially since the most recent update.

Unable to set filters to Dropdown Lists: Even when I add filters (to both questions and dashboards) and set everything to drop lists. I save the filter / variable and then, when I click on the filter, I’m met with an input option. On the odd occasion when a list does appear, after I click on the first option the list disappears and then I have to input an option again.

Apparent limits on the filter options: Some of our reports require a ‘customer’ filter, for which we have about 3,500 records. It appears that users cannot search beyond, in one example, the letter ‘G’, and so it appears that there’s a limit on the filter options?

Does anyone have any similar issues and / or solutions for these issues?

What is your database server?

For the first issue, have you tried logging out & clearing your browser cache? If you have, what is the source of the data for the dropdown? What I mean is, in dashboard edit mode, click the filter, then on the right next to “Dropdown list” is an edit button. Click that and report what the radio button on the dialog is set to. Also, what data type is one of the columns that’s having issues?

For the second issue, you’re probably running into query size limits. The limit appears to be greater than 2000, though, so not sure why it would be stopping there unless it is some limitation of your database server, or you’ve changed the default query limits.
