How does Metabase run queries?

Hi all,

Could you describe how and where Metabase run queries? For example, I added some tables from Snowflake. I created question based on one of tables. I run question. Is this query ran on Metabase side or sent in Snowflake? If a query is ran on Metabase side, which database is core of Metabase?

If you have a link with information, please, share it. I haven’t found any information.

Hi @jayrumi
All queries are being executed on your database (Snowflake in your case).
The application database of Metabase (H2 by default) is used to store user information, questions, dashboard, settings and more.
