How to delete question formatting from dashboard (inherit formatting)?

I prefer to define everything within questions, like the formatting, to reduce errors by having a single source of truth. Sometimes, someone changes the question formatting in the dashboard, so that future changes made within the question aren't mirrored. The reset button in the dashboard can be used to reset the formatting, but it effectively creates a snapshot and saves it in the dashboard. Future changes to the question formatting aren't mirrored.

Instead of deleting the question and creating a new one, how can I delete the formatting from the dashboard entirely?

To delete the dashcard-specific visualization settings, replace the question with itself. Edit the dashboard, select Replace from the hover menu on the card in question, then select the same question from the popup.
