How to transfer the Starter version report to the pro version

i plan to buy the metabase pro version, but i'm not sure , if i want to transfer the Starter version old reports to the pro vesion , whether i Need redevelopment? if not ,can give me some suggest how to transfer

Hi @abo123456789
If you want to upgrade Metabase Cloud from Starter to Pro, then contact support. It takes around 5 minutes to do the upgrade and it will keep everything you have created.

another question is the pro version can support Different users view different types of datas ? example role A can only view video projector and air-cleaner product type data, role B can only view Sweeping robot product type data? when i upgrade to the pro version , add Permission control must do many other work or not? is there a demo ?

@abo123456789 Yes, the Pro plan supports Sandboxing: https://www.metabase.com/docs/latest/enterprise-guide/data-sandboxes.html

See all the differences: https://www.metabase.com/pricing/#compare

one attributes can support Multiple values? like user_id:1,2

currently we deployed the metabse on owner machine, It also can takes around 5 minutes to do the upgrade from Open Source to Pro?

@abo123456789 Then you are not using Starter, since that only exists on Metabase Cloud.
You are using the free open source edition.

You need to follow this:
https://www.metabase.com/docs/latest/enterprise-guide/activating-the-enterprise-edition.html

as the docs said -> Run Metabase as you would normally, then go to Settings > Admin settings , and click ** Run Metabase as you would normally, then go to Settings > Admin settings , and click License and Billing in the lefthand sidebar. Paste in your license token under License and click Activate .** in the lefthand sidebar. Paste in your license token under License and click Activate .

but on my local deploy metabase i'm not found the License and Billing in Admin settings, as the picture

@abo123456789 As the docs says:

But to use it, you’ll need to install the right JAR file

Redirecting…

And you should follow the documentation for the version you are using. I'm always providing links to the latest release, since you have not stated which version you are using.

my deployed metabase vesion is : v0.41.3.1, use docker deployed

@abo123456789 You should upgrade immediately to a newer release: https://github.com/metabase/metabase/releases

i have upgrade to the latest version v0.42.0 ,but not found the , license token under License and click Activate .** in the lefthand sidebar. Paste in your license token under License and click Activate . as the picture

@abo123456789 Again, you are downloading the free open source edition. You need to download the Enterprise edition. Here's a direct link: https://github.com/metabase/metabase/releases/tag/v1.42.0

thianks , it works .
another question :
5555
if i want transfer the local metabase reports to the cloud , only upload this two file to cloud is ok? or i need do something else work?

@abo123456789 Let's get the terminology straight. You are not using Metabase Cloud, nor are you trying to migrate to Metabase Cloud.
You are using self-hosted.

You should migrate away from H2 if you are using Metabase in production:
https://www.metabase.com/docs/latest/operations-guide/migrating-from-h2.html

can give me a trial license, i want to confirm the pro version is Meet our development needs

@abo123456789 You can start a trial via the website: https://www.metabase.com/docs/latest/enterprise-guide/activating-the-enterprise-edition.html#where-to-get-a-license
