Just upgraded from .49 to .58 - copy and joins

Hi,

lots of new stuff, but also some perceived “downgrade” to known behaviours.

  1. Copy values from table takes much longer now

Prior to this new version, we were able to mark and copy any cell from a query table (orange box).

It seems like this option went away and one would need to click on the row details (green box) to see all information in order to extract = copy a value, see my screenshots:

  1. Joins

I am selecting database X that has - lets say 50 tables in it.

Picking “orders” and then would like to join “items”. One would then indeed then use that search function (instead of scrolling through 49 remaining tables), but now the results are all over the place, since the system suggests all saved and named questions related to “items”, but also the “items” table in that database. If I am not mistaking, on .49 it just showed one result for items that is database x.items.

The table display now supports selecting and copying multiple cells, which is why the behavior changed.

At least on Firefox, if you click enough in the cell (3-4 times), you can get text selection there.

Another workaround I’ve used is to create a dummy dashboard filter that’s referenced by a text card, then set a click action on the card to set the filter. Click the value to “set” the filter, then select & copy it from of the text field or the filter widget.
