Linked Filter

I have configured linked filters so that when a new option is selected in the parent filter, the linked filters update their dropdown options accordingly. However, the previously selected values in the linked filters do not reset. For example, if Filter A is the parent filter and Filter B is the linked filter, selecting a different Filter A should clear the previous Filter B selection, but it remains on the UI.

Can you share a clip of this, it's still not clear to me what is going on

I selected the state "CO" with its corresponding city "Aguilar." When selecting a different state, such as "AK," the previously selected state should reset.

When using linked filters in Metabase, changing the parent filter (e.g., "Filter… A") does not reset the linked filter (e.g., "Filter B"). This can lead to inconsistent or invalid filter combinations being displayed. I propose adding an option to automatically reset linked filters when the parent filter changes. This would improve the user experience and ensure data consistency. Use Case: In a dashboard, users select a "Filter A" from a dropdown filter. The "Filter B" filter is linked to the "Filter A" filter and updates its options based on the selected strategy. However, if a user changes the "Filter A," the previously selected "Filter B" value remains, even if it's no longer valid for the new strategy. This behavior can confuse users and lead to incorrect data being displayed. Proposed Solution: Add an option to automatically reset linked filters when the parent filter changes. Alternatively, allow users to configure this behavior in the filter settings.
