Metabase users with view access to Collection and no access to underlying database cannot view the Questions, but just Dashboards

Most of our users have view access to a collection, but no access to the underlying database. These users were able to see the dashboards but not individual questions. It keeps on loading without any error. According to metabase(v0.34.2) documentation, I was under the impression they should be able to view the questions as well.

I noticed that there were several bugs reports on this, but were on the previous versions. I was hoping if someone from the new versions also faced this issue and have resolved it.

I’m fairly sure you’re seeing this issue, which is fixed on 0.35.0 - latest release is 0.35.2:

But it might also be this issue, which is not fixed yet:

Otherwise it would be very helpful if you posted:

  1. “Diagnostic Info” from Admin > Troubleshooting
  2. Errors from Admin > Troubleshooting > Logs, or from your browser developer console.
