How to work with Metabase in development, approval and production environments? In other words, when developing a BI project, how to make it available for approval and later migrate to the Production environment?
This has been asked many times in the past. In short, there’s no proper way to migrate content between systems.
If you use the Enterprise edition, there’s extra, but still not great.
In practice, I take a copy of my customer’s Metabase database, change the connections to my local database to do the work, then I copy it back again, overwriting anything they’ve done in the meantime.
This is probably Metabase’s greatest weakness.
