i can't understand whats new in Versione 52 in relation with Dashboard filters (connectin filters With columns)

In previous versions when you had a query with groups, there were limitations on what you could filter.
That said, I've not tested the new feature yet.
Yeah they did a bad job at explaining this feature 
but I think I figured it out. Before you could only filter on the final part of the entire question but now you can filter from the beginning of the question and apply filters earlier or later on in the question and have them take affect.
is this any clearer?
