New user is not able to logon and pw reset not working

Self-hosted deployment.
Have verified the sendgrid SMTP is working and that the user is able to receive emails from other sources.
I have set up a new user and attempt to signin to Metabase with email address (as opposed to using Google SSO), and message is issued to state that the password does not match the records.

I have attempted to:
a) request a new PW email using the "forgot my password" link when posing as the user.... no email received.
b) Reset the user's pw from within Metabase Admin.... nothing happens.

Please advise.

Check your SMTP logs. Once Metabase delivers to the SMTP, then Metabase has no knowledge of what happens further from there.
