Per github issues https://github.com/metabase/metabase/issues/8893 and https://github.com/trinodb/trino/issues/6546, it is a hard stoppage for connecting metabase and presto/trino db if you utilize ssl.
This works with the API as long as you do not use self-signed certs on presto/trino.
