Public dashboard jumps to auth/login after 20 seconds of loading

Bit of a weird one, but when I load a dashboard via a public link, after 20 seconds of loading it redirects to auth/login and shows the no results icon.

The dashboard loads perfectly if you are logged in both within Metabase and using the public link.

Is this a bug or expected behaviour, possibly as a defence against flooding?

This is definitely a bug. I think I know what’s happening, and I opened a bug report at https://github.com/metabase/metabase/issues/4620
