Question about interactive chart behavior on self-hosted Metabase

Hi Metabase Support Team,

I’m running a self-hosted Metabase instance on my own VPS and have a question about interactive dashboards and charts.

I can create dashboards and charts in Metabase, and in the normal interface users can click on charts and interact (for example drilling down or navigating to another dashboard). I’d like to understand if this same interactive behavior (clickable charts that open or interact with other charts/dashboards) is fully available when self-hosting without paying, or if it requires a paid subscription (Pro/Enterprise) in order to enable this kind of interactivity when embedding or using Metabase.

Could you clarify which features are supported on self-hosted free vs which ones require a subscription?

Thanks in advance!

The level of embedding you’re asking for (which is now authenticated modular embedding, used to be called interactive embedding) is only available for paid plans, both cloud and self-hosted.

The OSS version supports guest modular embedding (used to be called static embedding) only.
