Setting a goal in the progress bar as a metric/variable

It would be neat if you could set the goal of a progress bar visualization to a metric or other variable. For example, let’s say a company wants to track the progress of this month’s sales compared to last month’s sales. Currently, the company would have to calculate the volume of sales in the previous month and then set the goal of the next month’s visualization to that value. If it were possible to set the goal to a metric or variable, then the progress visual could be created without constant updating once the previous time periods sales are in. Rather the visual would just update automatically.

Hi @tpeters
There’s a couple of various feature requests for the Goal function, but I’m pretty sure you’re looking for this - go and upvote by clicking :+1: on the first post:

@flamber you are right! I upvoted the first post. Hopefully an update like this is in the works and will be available soon!

Three years later and still no update. Any chance this will ever be released?

I know, its mental that Metabase has no dynamic/expression based capabilities. For me that's the gam(e)changer for them. Until that happens they'll never be a first choice BI tool. Such as shame cos this is the most basic requirement in any BI tool.
