Received this email from slack today. Will this affect metabase alerts that send to slack channels? Is any action needed to make sure alerts continue to work?

No, it only affects MetaBot (being able to ask questions from Slack).
And it only applies to newly created bots, not existing bots.
But we're working on changing from Bot to App, but it's a huge change, given how they're very different:
