Trend show different results than query

When using Trend, metabase gets the values wrong:

I would like for Trend to show an increase or decrease within an arbitrary date range, but this seems to be broken:

Hey did you ever find out why this happens?

Please check with v50 or v51 where we made a huge change in how trend charts work
