Unable to upload Service account JSON file on Mac Desktop App

Using the Mac Desktop App:

  1. Go to 'Settings -> Admin -> Add Database'
  2. Select BigQuery for Database type
  3. Add a name and dataset ID
  4. Click 'Select a file' button

When I click the 'Select a file' button, nothing happens. When I hover over the button, the border turns blue, but clicking doesn't change the state of the button or bring up an upload modal.

Also, the button UI looks a little strange.

How do I fix this?

Hi Howard, this might be an issue with the way the Mac App renders the page. I strongly recommend that you delete the Mac App and start again with a Metabase server running through Docker or the JAR file, as we're discontinuing the Mac App because of these kinds of things.

@howardwkim You are seeing this issue:
https://github.com/metabase/metabase/issues/15075

If I may suggest, try another browser. I had the same issue using Chrome on Mac but it worked on Safari.

@jsaadani It's time to move away from the Mac App. This is the last major version:
