My Metabase (v35.4) is hosted on an Ubuntu OS in the backend. I am currently facing a “There was a problem displaying the chart” issue in the dashboard and I suspect if upgrading to the latest version of the Metabase can help me resolve it. I currently use the Enterprise Edtion which gives me an option to upgrade. Will upgrading erase all existing dashboards and all other SQL queries ?. I am currently using the ClickhouseDB that is connected to my Metabase. Kindly advise. Thanks.
Hi @siddle
If you’re using the Enterprise Edition, then you should use the support email.
It’s hard to tell what problem you’re seeing without the full error message from Admin > Troubleshooting > Logs.
There’s no “update” function in Metabase, it’s a manual process depending on how you’re running Metabase:
https://www.metabase.com/docs/latest/operations-guide/upgrading-metabase.html
But upgrading will not delete existing data - just make sure to have backups before upgrading.
If you’re using third-party drivers, then you need to make sure you’re using a version that is compatible with your Metabase version.
