Use trend to compare same time period year prior

Hi, I am trying to compare pieces shipped from 1/1/2022 - thru current day to 1/1/2021 - thru current day but of year 2021. So basically same time period this year and year before.

Problem with the trend chart is if I group by year it will compare only YTD to the entire year last year which does not give me the trend I am looking for.

Any idea how to get what I'm looking for? Whether a setting or some fancy sql to make it work?

You cannot use the Trend visualization, since it doesn't allow you to set the lag:
