Athena driver doesn't work anymore on V0.38.0

I have updated to the latest version of Metabase, but it seems to break the athena driver, any ideas on how to fix that?

Thanks in advance,

Hi @alex23
You should open an issue in the driver repo and provide logs of what is failing and which version you’re using:
https://github.com/dacort/metabase-athena-driver

Are there any plans for metabase to maintain the athena driver up to date, cause it seems like its not maintained anymore ? But I will open an issue.

Thanks,

@alex23 There are requests for a lot of drivers, but every driver we include in the core would require a lot more time for development, maintenance and testing. It might change in the future, if we have more developers dedicated to drivers.
For reference:

@flamber I have the same request, that Metabase support Athena out of the box in Core. It would also motivate me to move to Metabase Cloud and pay for a subscription rather than host myself but it seems to be the only limiting factor preventing my move.

@rbalsicksaatva We’re working on adding support for third-party drivers on Cloud, but don’t have a timeline for that yet.

I’m updating the Athena driver for v0.38 compatibility.

@flamber Based on this and https://github.com/enqueue/metabase-clickhouse-driver/issues/61 it seems like we may want to send out an email to the driver authors mailing list.
